The premium collection process has changed

What has changed? From now on, you no longer pay the premium in advance, but in arrears, i.e. after receiving the premium invoice.

  • • You provide us with the current personal data by importing the files on the Koopvaardij Portal.
  • • We process these data and calculate the premium due on the basis of the current details. We will then send you a premium invoice.
  • • You pay after receiving the premium invoice, i.e. In arrears, and no later than 30 calendar days after the premium invoice has been sent.

If you were already paying the premium after receiving the premium invoice, nothing will change for you. All premium invoices can be viewed in the Koopvaardij Portal.

Are the data of your employees in the Koopvaardij Portal up to date and complete?

Every month, you enter the wage details of your employees and your employee mutations via the Koopvaardij Portal. It is important that this takes place on time. In order to prevent late payments and – subsequent – fines, it is also important that the data are complete and up to date. You should therefore check the addresses and personnel numbers of your staff too. If they are incomplete, you can fill them in via the portal.

Tip! You can easily supply addresses and personnel numbers by uploading a CSV file in the portal under collective notifications.

Employees with VPL entitlements

You may have employees with conditional extra pension (VPL) entitlements at Bpf Koopvaardij. The VPL scheme will expire on 1 January 2023. In the event that the employment is terminated and the employee leaves the merchant navy before that time, the employee may lose the prospect of this additional pension. We request you to inform these employees at that time of the possibility of retaining their VPL entitlement. This is possible by voluntary continuation of the pension scheme. However, voluntary continuation is subject to conditions. For more information, please refer your employees to the information on our website. The employees in question will also receive a letter on this subject.

Has your collective agreement (CAO) been registered with SPAWW?

In 2016, the statutory WW unemployment benefit was adjusted from 38 months to 24 months. Employers' and employees' organisations have agreed that the right to this benefit will remain the same as far as possible (third WW year). This has been incorporated in a private arrangement, Private Supplement WW and WGA Foundation (SPAWW), to which collective agreements can be submitted.

During a WW benefit, the pension build-up with Bpf Koopvaardij can be continued voluntarily. In that case, Bpf Koopvaardij will pay part of the contribution. We now also do so during a SPAWW benefit. The total duration of the continuation (WW and SPAWW) will not exceed 36 months. You can arrange this supplement for your employees by means of a collective agreement.

On this page (Dutch only), you will find an overview of the collective agreements that have been registered with SPAWW. If your collective agreement has not been registered, you can register it via this page (Dutch only). If you do not have a collective agreement, registration with SPAWW will unfortunately not be possible.
