On 1 January, all pensions switched to the new pension system. In the old pension system, the funding ratio was the proportion of assets on hand to the pensions we must pay out. Now and in the future. In the new pension system, we no longer have a funding ratio. However, the last latest funding ratio of 2025 is still important for your new pension.
The social partners agreed that we could switch to the new pension system if the December funding ratio was 106% or higher. On 31 December 2025, it was in fact higher than 106% . As a result, we have more money than the necessary minimum, and the pension assets of all members can increase.
If you have retired, then in the new pension scheme your pension will move in line with the economy. If the economy is doing well, then your pension can increase. If it is doing less well, then we absorb fluctuations, including with the solidarity reserve. Your pension changes once a year.
In March or April, you will receive a digital or paper letter from us with the final calculation of your new pension. You will also see it in My Koopvaardij.
If you want to know more about the funding ratio, then go to Financial situation.
