 | Your pension will increase by 1.27% with effect from 1 January 2025We try to increase your pension each year, taking into account the rise in the cost of living and also the financial health of the fund. This year, we have carefully considered the interests of all members, both now and in the future. If you want to know how we arrived at this increase and what the considerations were, then read the explanation. |

| Review of the pension meetingsIn October and November, pension meetings for our members and pensioners took place in Zwolle, Breukelen, and Ridderkerk. On behalf of the board of Bpf Koopvaardij, Remko Kloos, Willeke Ong, Richard Devue, Guido Hollaar and Chantal Boekkooi shared the latest news on the fund's situation, the switch to pension provider PGGM and the new pension rules. The questions raised by those attending meant they were lively meetings. You can see the presentation and a video on our website. If you were unable to attend, there will be meetings again next year. |

 | Questions about the new pension systemNow that the pension rules are about to change, we understand that you will have questions about them. So here are answers to the most frequently asked questions about the new pension system.
What will be done to prevent pensions decreasing too sharply in the new scheme? The new system means that pensions will now move in line with the economy, so decreases can never be completely avoided. The new rules do however ensure that the fluctuations become less significant when you have retired. For example, by investing with less risk as you get older. (Younger people will have more time to absorb investment setbacks.) We can also keep pensions stable by means of a buffer for setbacks: the solidarity reserve. We build this up in more favourable times so that we can absorb or mitigate a pension fall in less favourable times. We spread windfalls and setbacks out over a three-year period. That’s how we will try to avoid large fluctuations.
