Help with the final calculation of your new pension
On 1 January 2026, Bpf Koopvaardij successfully switched to the new pension scheme. The pension in this scheme has been calculated for each member. You already received the preliminary calculation from us at the end of 2025. Between mid-March and the end of May, you will receive a letter or email about your final calculation with the amounts for your new pension as of 1 January 2026.

What is the situation regarding your pension?
Every situation is different. Choose which situation applies to you for your pension. You will then receive information appropriate to your personal situation.
- I work in the merchant navy and build up pension
- I am retired and receive pension from Bpf Koopvaardij
- I have built up pension in the past at Bpf Koopvaardij
- I am a surviving dependant and receive a partner's pension, special partner's pension or orphan's pension from Bpf Koopvaardij
- I am an ex-partner of someone who works or worked in the merchant navy

Example amounts
In the summer (2025), you will receive an initial impression of what you can expect from the new pension rules, based on a number of example individuals.

Preliminary calculation
In October or November (2025), you will receive by letter or e-mail a preliminary personal calculation of your new pension.

Final calculation
Between mid-March and the end of May, you will receive by letter or e-mail the final personal calculation of your new pension.
Your personal pension information
With the new pension scheme, much remains the same. You will still receive a pension for as long as you live and costs and risks are shared jointly. However, there are also new arrangements. For example, if you are building up or have built up a pension, you now have pension assets and the surviving dependants' pension is arranged differently.
